One of the leading evangelical Christian magazines in Germany, Die Gemeinde, put the spotlight on By Heart. The magazine, which is published by Oncken Verlag / Blessings 4 You in close cooperation with the Bund Evanglisch-Freikirchlicher Gemeinden in Deutschland K.d.o.R. is published monthly. The editor of the magazine, Wolfgang Günter, was encouraged by one of our long-time advocates, Frank-Detlef Karolius, to write an article about the mission and work of By Heart. Herr Günter was very interested and wrote an exceptionally good 4-page interview with By Heart that was published in the December 2024 issue of Die Gemeinde.
The questions putting the spotlight on By Heart
Herr Günter put the spotlight on By Heart, asking some very insightful questions. Here is a sample:
- Why is it a good idea to memorize the Bible text? What bothers you about the traditional reading of Scripture?
- Do you do this in every church service? Doesn’t it take far too long to prepare?
- What is the response from worshipers who hear something like this for the first time?
- What do reciters say about the experience of reciting a passage?
The article included information about By Heart workshops and gave contact information. He included a great quote from Haddon Robinson, “It is a sin to bore people with the gospel.” If you would like to get regular content like this, you can subscribe to DIE GEMEINDE.
