Speaking 1st Corinthians
Speaking 1st Corinthians is now available in electronic format from Prisca Publishing. It is our first activity guide and it serves as a template for subsequent activity guides in the series. This first guide proved itself in a beta-test group trial.
The Speaking the Bible vision
Foundations of Speaking the Bible has been published and is available at Prisca Publishing in both paper and electronic versions. This resource guide supports the entire Speaking the Bible series. Significantly in this book, are 60 pages of memorization techniques and 47 pages covering genre and literary devices. Total length is 348 pages. It is the core reference book for the Speaking the Bible series. Speaking the Bible is a project to create a Bible study series that seeks to understand how the books of the Bible sound. We are gathering forty experts from around the world to contribute to the study.
The Authors Project
Our first outside author is Reverend Philemon Kirputo Tanui from the Nairobi Baptist Church. He has completed his first draft of Speaking the book of Ruth and is now revising.
In addition, we have several leads for additional authors. If you know of someone who is an expert on a book of the Bible, we would love to hear about them and discuss the possibility for their involvement. To learn more check our Authors Project webpage for details about the benefits and requirements for participants in the project.
A word from our publisher
David Martin from Prisca Publishing, says that the Speaking 1st Corinthians will be available in electronic format on the 4th of July, 2026. Here’s what he wrote about this activities guide
Speaking 1 Corinthians is an inductive study guide from By Heart that equips the Church to move beyond academic study of Scripture to confidently internalizing and proclaiming it in corporate worship.
>By Heart is committed to equipping believers to speak Bible passages, and this 7-session guide provides a clear, communal pathway to do just that. Through observation, interpretation, and memorization, each participant engages a portion of 1 Corinthians. They work toward a shared goal: the public recitation of Scripture in the gathered assembly.
>More than a study, this is a formative process shaped in community. Within a small group, participants grow in understanding, confidence, and clarity as they prepare to speak God’s Word together.
>Speaking 1 Corinthians serves a larger vision—helping congregations cultivate a living rhythm of corporate proclamation, where Scripture is not only studied, but spoken through the voices of God’s people.
Activities Guides in the Speaking the Bible series are designed to be used alongside Foundations for Speaking the Bible, which provides deeper background on all Activity Guide topics.
