By Heart is seeking Christian authors who are experts in one of the books of the Bible. Our goal is to match great writers with the book of the Bible that they most have a passion for. Then we invite them to guide us through how to best speak the book aloud. The result will be Activity Guides for a 7-week study in which the members of a study group each learn a passage from one book of the Bible. By the end of the study, participants will be ready to recite their passage. The will have explored themes, historical context, Scriptural references, and literary devices used in the book. Significantly, they will have had abundant opportunities to practice so that they are confident when they recite their passage at the last session.
Authors from around the world are invited to apply to be Activity Guide authors for the Speaking the Bible series. 
We are seeking Christian authors who…
- are able to teach
- have previously published a book
- are not recent converts
- have an established community of supporters
- have lives that do not distract
- are well thought of by outsiders
We seek authors of faith from all evangelical denominations that hold the Bible as the inerrant word of God. Our authors may be male or female and may write in any language.

Our first collaborative author
David Packer will author the Activities Guide for “Speaking Romans”. He is our first author collaboration, and we are worried that he sets the bar too high for everyone else! For twenty years, David has been a regular writer for adult Bible studies with LifeWay Christian Resources and has written several books including: These Things We Believe, Look Who God Let into the Church, What Ever Happened to Prayer, How the Story Ends, and Burnout: Causes and Recovery.
He has pastored churches in the United States (TX, NC), the Philippines, and Germany (Düsseldorf, Stuttgart), taught at several theological schools (Korntal, Singapore, Manila) and continues to teach online at SBST, Manila. He has more degrees than a thermometer.
